■Unityを使えば5分でVRコンテンツが開発できる

Unityを使えば誰でも超簡単にVRコンテンツが開発できます。本ページでは、Unity2017のVRコンテンツ開発用の設定方法の説明も兼ねて、超初歩のVRコンテンツ開発を紹介します。5分で出来ます。

ちなみに前提として、Unity2017をインストールしたPCに、すでにOculusRiftもしくはHTC VIVEが接続されているものとして話を進めます。

 

■Unityでプロジェクトを作成する

 

 

Unityを起動します。

 

 

上のような画面が表示されるので、右上の『NEW』ボタンをクリックします。

 

 

プロジェクト作成画面が表示されるので、①Project nameに適当な名前を入力、②Locationに適当な保存先を選択、③3D、2Dの選択があるので3Dを選択、最後に『Create Project』ボタンを押します。

 

 

Unityが起動します。

※ちなみに初回起動時にWindowsファイアウォールの警告が出るかもしれません。その場合、「アクセスを許可」ボタンを押してください。

 

 

まずはじめに、UnityのVRサポートを有効にします。ツールバーから、「Edit」→「Project Settings」→「Player」を選択してください。

 

 

すると画面の右側に「PlayerSettings」の画面が開きます。

 

 

「PlayerSettings」の中の「Other Settings」という欄の中に、「Virtual Reality Supported」という項目があるので、それにチェックを入れます。するとすぐ下に「Virtual Reality SDKs」という選択肢が出てきますが、とりあえず『Oculus』という表示があればOKです。HTC VIVEを使う場合でもこれでOKです。

 

基本的にはこれだけでVRコンテンツの開発準備は完了です。すぐにでも自分で作ったUnityのプロジェクトをVRで見ることができます。とはいえ、まだプロジェクトに何も作っていないので見るものがありません。なので、適当にオブジェクトをプロジェクト内に設置します。

 

 

左の「Hierarchy（ヒエラルキー）」画面を見ます。ここから色々なオブジェクトをプロジェクト内に追加できます。

 

 

「Hierarchy」画面中の「Create」というボタンを押します。ドロップダウンメニューが表示されるので、「3D Object」→「Cube」を選択します。

 

 

中央の画面を見ます。これがいわゆるゲーム画面です。ここに表示されているものを後ほどVRで見ることができます。この画面内の適当な場所をクリックするとCubeを設置できます。

 

 

これで準備完了です。画面中央の上にある三角ボタン（再生ボタン）を押してください。

 

 

PCに接続しているVRシステムが起動します。

※上の画面ではHTC VIVEが起動しています。

 

 

VRヘッドセットを被ってください。先ほど自分で設置したCubeがVR空間内で見れるはずです。

 

これで超初歩のVRコンテンツ開発は完了です。自分で設置したオブジェクトをVRで見るというコンテンツが出来ました。「Hierarchy」の「Create」→「3D Object」からCubeの他に色々なものを設置して、再生ボタンを押すとまた景色が違っているはずです。こんな感じで、Unityを使えば自分オリジナルのVRコンテンツがあっという間に作れます。

次はこのVR空間に美少女を召還してみます。
